Termite Inspections
Why do I need an inspection?
Termite inspections are the first step required to assess whether there is visual evidence of termite activity and other timber pests. The findings of the inspection will provide both yourself and our inspectors with better information through which to manage a termite situation if one is found.
Please Note: This option will not eradicate existing termite activity or provide any future protection from further attack.
Where will MLC Inspectors look for activity?
Our Inspectors will inspect all accessable areas of your dwelling including the roof, inside, outside, under the house, yard fences and any trees on your property within 50 meters of your home.
What equipment will you use?
Our Inspectors are highly trained in the use of sounding equipment, moisture meters, Termatrac - which detects motion based on microwave technology, and borescopes. Borescopes allow our technicians to gain visual access inside walls and other enclosed spaces. Thermal imaging technology is also available.
How long does a visual inspection take?
Our inspections usually takes approximately one hour depending on the size of the inspection area.
What happens after the inspection is completed?
After the inspection our inspector will compile a report based on what he has found and discuss it with you. This report will give you a detailed view of any termite exposure or damage on your property as well as recommend methods you can take to reduce the risk of termite invasion.
What else is included in the report?
Along with the current termite and timber pest status of your property and recommendations, the report we give you will also include recommendations for a management plan and advice on any pre-existing timber pest management systems that have been installed on your property.
What happens after the report?
Our Inspector will discuss the findings with you and offer you advise on the next step based on the findings of the report and your options to either continue a detection process, manage a current - or new - barrier system, or eliminate termite activity.
