A General Pest Control Service carried out to your property is designed to flush insects out of their common harbourage areas in and around the home.  The barrier applied should continue to perform for up to six months in normal conditions.  It will not rid your property of every insect.  When an insect comes into contact with the barrier it will die soon after (can take up to 72 hours to take effect).

Environmental changes to your property or neighbourhood can introduce insects, you may not have experienced in the past.  Keeping gardens and lawns well maintained and removing unwanted rubbish from the site will help to minimise breeding areas for unwanted nasties.  Damp subfloors, excessive use of garden mulch, leaves and overgrowth will create good environments for cockroaches and spiders to breed. Often retainer walls will hold moisture and harbour cockroaches too.  If you have bird aviaries, fish ponds, or a pool etc we cannot treat these areas, they are typical areas where insects will be drawn to.  If you store goods under your home we cannot spray those areas.

Rodents

If you have seen any mice or rats, don't scream just call MLC. Baits are placed in areas accessible to rats and mice, but not in areas that children and pets can get to. Rodents carry diseases and implementing good hygiene procedures and sealing entry points to the home will help stop rodents from returning. Make sure you choose a product that minimizes the risk of secondary poisoning, in the case of rodents possibly being intercepted by your animals. Ask for our rodent treatment.

We also offer a FULLGARD treatment, which includes general pests and rodents. When carried out together, a discount price is applicable.

Fleas

Can be a big problem. Our summers, combined with lots of rain and humidity create a perfect environment for fleas to breed, especially when most of us have pets around. We recommend for a better success rate, to have your lawns recently mowed and watered prior to a flea treatment to allow the product to work more effectively. Also if your pets are being bitten it is best to put them on a flea program to help stop the breeding cycle.

Birds

Itchy, scratching, hearing noises? Birds often like to find a nice safe place for nesting, often it’s in your home. If they can find an entry point into your roof, there is a good chance that they will use it. MLC can treat the problem by removing the nests and powder treating the roof void to your dwelling (Bird nest removal and treatment).

In cases where bird lice are biting family members we can treat the interior of your dwelling. MLC will find the entry points and recommend the best form of bird proofing you will need to stop the birds re-entering your home.
